The Eagle

Wanna know where the bad boys that your Momma warned you about hang out? Look no further than Eagle L.A. Rough, gruff and tough (yet friendly as teddy bears), the men at this well-known Silverlake haunt are the complete antithesis of twink. The Eagle’s motto? Always uphold the Leather-Uniform-Fetish Ethic. And, damn, does this bar live up to its creed. Dark and dirty enough to be fun without being seedy, hard music and a hazy ambiance set the scene for night of as much naughtiness or niceness as you’d like. There’s no need for fancy threads here; men are often shirtless or dawning their best leather uniform. But for those without a closet full of fetish wear, never fear; a tight tank top and jeans work just fine.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE
Family Men ~ Both the staff and the patrons are like family here. (The website even features pictures and bios of the bartenders.) At The Eagle, the clientèle are more than drinkers; they’re regulars…and they’re always ready to welcome a newbie.
And the Winner is… ~ Contests like Mr. Leather and Mr. Sanctuary upgrade barhopping from a pastime to a sport. You’ll never look at friendly competition the same way again.
Size Matters ~ It’s easy to get intimidated in this place; some of the patrons are downright bodybuilder bears. For the small and the skinny, it’s sometimes easy to get lost in the crowd.
