The Palms Bar has been a staple in the West Hollywood community for 36 years. A known lesbian bar, back in the day they used to have quite the celebrity attendance record. Today it’s a completely different story. The Palms can’t seem to pull in the crowds anymore. Possibly because of all the stiff competition that has arisen over the past few years, it has been a constant struggle. They have brought in a number of promoters in hopes of developing a successful night. The closest they have come is Club Gloss, an event every second and last Friday of the month. Generally not locals, these girls are more of an eclectic mix, very much into hip-hop and latin trends. Inside it is dark with a long bar, pool table and suitable sized dance floor.

Plain and Simple

HISTORIC – Melissa Etheridge, Ellen DeGeneres, Jim Morrison are only a few of whom have sat at this famous bar.

DANCING – Rarely packed, the dance floor provides ample space to perfect a new move.

VARIETY – On occasion they hold an open mic night for both male and female performers.
