  • Marix Tex Mex Café

By Michael Anthony • Posted: February 11th, 2008

1108 North Flores Street, West Hollywood, CA 90069
    323-656-8800

    The Vibe:
Clandestinely tucked away on WeHo’s residential Flores Street, a dinner at Marix feels more like a Hollywood house party than a restaurant. Low lighting, an exposed ceiling, pumping dance music and the city’s best (award-winning) margaritas all combine to make a trendy yet non-intimidating evening. It’s definitely a place to see and be seen; regulars include Jennifer Aniston, Sheryl Crow and American Idol made-famous talents.

    The Food:
Mexican fare turned on its head; the best (and healthiest) of California-styled ingredients combined with unique and eclectic Tex Mex creations. Here, dinners go from mild to super spicy, depending on your substitutions.

    The Bottom Line:
Marix has become a Hollywood staple, bringing together the trendiest of “industry peeps” with all aspects of the LGBT community. Happy hour (with its amazing drink and appetizer specials) has never been so much fun; whether your vacationing or a local, this t-shirt and jeans hotspot is a must-enjoy.

    Rating: 5/5 stars

    Gotta Try:
Steak fajitas with the onions well done. A side of cheese, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. No tortillas, rice or beans. Mixed in a sizzling, hot salad.
